Why see Kansas?

Another Fork In The Road

The legendary Kansas are celebrating their 50th anniversary! They're heading out on the road across North America in 2024, touring their extensive catalog including AOR radio staples like 'Carry on Wayward Son' and 'Fight Fire with Fire'. Don't miss the chance to celebrate five decades of this iconic American rock band!

Though the band that has produced 14 studio albums and sold millions across the globe, they're certainly not taking it easy. Their mastery of progressive rock eclecticism and styles as varied as boogie-woogie and hair metal saw Kansas sitting pretty alongside other rock acts of the 1970s, such as Boston and Styx. The band's commercial breakthrough came with 1976's Leftoverture, which contained Carry on Wayward Son.

Great Show

Kansas rocked the Beacon last night with an inspired performance of Lefoverture and POKR. Ronnie Platt's vocals and the band's harmonizing was the best I've heard in a live performance of any Kansas band incarnation in years. Acoustic set to start with POSW, Hold On, Refugee and Lonely Wind, set the stage for Leftoverture with standout versions of Carry On, Miracles Out of Nowhere and Magnum Opus the highlights. Fans stood for all or most of these songs and the band played off the enthusiasm of the crowd. Highlights from Point of Know Return were the title track which brought the house down, Portrait and Nobody's Home, one of the most underrated Kansas songs in their extensive playbook. The encore of Song of America and Icarus 1 from Masque were the perfect songs to appease the hard core Kansas fans attending. Overall the band was awesome, Phil is still incredible on drums driving the band. Rich continues to play most of the lead guitar parts keeping them fresh and lively but true to the originals. Billy Greer's versatility on bass and vocals has been a steady force for the band now for over 30 years, and Zak Rizvi and newcomer Tom Brislin brought excitement to the stage and killed on their solo opportunities. The Beacon is always awesome and my left side orchestra seats were better than expected. The show lasted 2.5 hours and was pure enjoyment for this Kansas fan all the way through. ... Read more

BTE @ THE KESWICK!

Saw the BTE show last night @ the Keswick. This venue is amazing! More accurately, the people working for the Keswick were absolutely amazing and accommodating. I'm in a wheelchair and going out is difficult, especially in crowds. From the second I pulled up there was a lady who helped get my van parked and got me and my party inside. She stayed with me until I was settled up front. She really made me feel welcomed and at ease. Even my service dog was welcomed. If I could I would see every concert at the Keswick. Great venue and spectacular people! ... Read more
